The BMW ALPINA XD3 and XD4 models

Building upon the basis of the BMW 3.0 litre straight-six engine with quad-turbocharging and common-rail high-pressure direct injection, the drivetrain delivers a power output of 285 kW (388 hp) and 770 Nm of torque over a broad rpm range. The combination of powerful drivetrain, all-wheel drive with fully variable torque distribution and sports suspension with electronically adjustable dampers means the BMW ALPINA XD3 and BMW ALPINA XD4 offer superior handling and dynamics without compromising ride comfort.


The BMW ALPINA XD3 is back by popular demand. With a modern design and pleasing aesthetics this powerful SUV offers a convincing blend of high performance, everyday utility and exemplary ride comfort. The 3.0 litre straight-six engine with quad-turbocharging accelerates the BMW ALPINA XD3 from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds. A jet-like propulsion aided by 770 Nm of torque ends in a top speed of 267 km/h. Advanced diesel engine technology coupled with the latest in exhaust gas treatment technology ensures that consumption and emissions are reduced to a minimum. Fuel consumption measured according to ECE norm 6.9 l/100 km abd 183 g/km CO2.


For the first time, ALPINA combines the popular characteristics of a sport utility vehicle with the sleek and dynamic silhouette of a coupé. The all BMW ALPINA XD4 features prominent and dynamic styling, accentuated by a rear spoiler and rear apron with integrated diffusor. Optionally available ALPINA CLASSIC 22” wheels are striking in appearance and design, meaning the BMW ALPINA XD4 stands out from the crowd. Driving performance is on a whole new level, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds and on to a top speed of 268 km/h makes this the fastest diesel SUV in its segment. Fuel consumption measured according to ECE norm 6.9 l/100 km and 183 g/km CO2.

In combination with ALPINA CLASSIC 22“ forged wheels reduced top speed by approximately 5 km/h.


The ALPINA sport suspension ensures that the BMW ALPINA XD3 and BMW ALPINA XD4 satisfy the highest demands regarding comfort, everyday utility and performance. Electronically adjustable dampers allow the driver to choose from a number of settings ranging from Comfort+ to Sport+ to suit all needs. Lightweight ALPINA CLASSIC 20” wheels and a performance oriented all-wheel drive system with ALPINA specific torque distribution means the latest SUV’s from ALPINA exhibit sharp, precise and neutral handling at all times. Additionally an active rear limited slip differential comes as standard for even more traction and agility during cornering or when driving on rapidly changing surfaces.

World Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP)

From September 2017 onwards, the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light-Duty Vehicles Test Procedure) will gradually replace the current NEDC (New European Driving Cycle) as the test procedure for measuring motor vehicle fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. From September 2018 all motor vehicles will be certified and measured according to WLTP. Due to a significantly more dynamic driving cycle, the WLTP more realistically reflects real driving behaviour than the NEDC. Despite there being no change in a vehicle’s real fuel consumption, the new WLTP and its associated driving cycle will result in higher fuel consumption and CO2 emissions values being measured.
